Welcome to “Understanding Your Dreams with Brother Francis E. Revels-Bey: A journey through DREAMSCAPE just for You!” … March 2024 and April 2024.
Now I want to remind all of you that our dreams are very important throughout our life and the best way to solve them is keep a Dream Journal. When you keep a dream journal you can figure out the dream symbols that are universal, others that are general and especially your own which are specific to you. Everything in nature is always “speaking” to us such as animals, insects, plants, rocks, gemstones and trees and bodies of water. We just have to pay attention to all of them.
Let me first define the word – Dreamscape: We experience many dreams as messages from our Higher-self into ourselves through our earthly selves by way sleep. Dreamscape is the inner paintings in the forms of universal and personal symbolic languages. We are experiencing R.E.M. when we are dreaming while in deep sleep. We have many or a few and some nights we might not even remember upon awakening from a deep sleep. Some of us may not remember because we could be overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. Some of us have had traumatic life situations causing us to block out our dreams.
We have dreams to help us alleviate stress and sometimes the dreams are comedic so we can alleviate such stress. Just check with a sibling or partner you share a bedroom with and you might hear them laughing in their sleep. However, the most important reason for our dream state is for us to work through our daytime daily situations that we have not been able to make any clear cut decisions, because we cannot figure out what is actually happening. Thus, we dream about our life situations at night. I often thought that all the people in my dreams were always about them when instead it was about myself. Do you know that many people that you see and their actions, animals, weather, buildings, locations can sometimes be really about yourself and your attributes and attitudes on life for yourself and nothing about them?
Let me get you all started on understanding your dreams as dreamscapes by creating a journal. Your journal can be a simple composition book and you can keep the front and back covers plain or make them colorful…it is all up to you. Every time you think and know that you had a dream upon waking up, start to record your dreams. First you should write the date (include day of the week), time you went to sleep and time you awakened from sleep. If you are cognizant enough, you might even write down the time you woke up out of the sleep to use the rest room and then go back to sleep. Sometimes you might not remember how all of them began and for how long (which is hard to determine because you are sleeping). Eventually after doing this enough times, you can enter the astrological information: Sun sign, Moon sign, Retrograde planets as sometimes the electromagnetic energy from these can effect you on subtle levels. You might be able to detect a pattern for your dreams occurring and the symbolic language repeated throughout them. But, you do not have to become so elaborate in the beginning as the date and time is sufficient.
The next things to write about is whether or not the dream showed the time of day (pre-dawn, sunrise, morning, midday afternoon, early evening and night time), season (spring-summer-fall or winter), the kind of weather. All of these elements will let you know if the situations at hand in your life are of an urgent nature or not. Now, you can look into your memory of your dream to see if you remember seeing any buildings such as houses, warehouses, places of worship, schools etc. Keep in mind that these denote your own mind and how you think about yourself, your life and others in your world.
It is very important to write the dream as if it is a movie to you because as you do this, the symbols in the dream will become clearer to you and the actions, colors and buildings or even the open spaces along with the weather will speak volumes to you. In the coming months you will learn more about how your dreams and their symbolic messages speak to you. Even Numerology can assist you in understanding the various symbols in your dream. Here is a brief look—
For example people born on Birthday Numbers adding to the 1 (1, 10, 19 and 28), the 3 (3, 12, 21 and 30), 5 (5, 14 and 23) and the 9 (9, 18 and 27) – they have very active dreams connected to their mental and fiery temperaments. Those born on Birthday Numbers adding up to the 2 (2, 11, 20 and 29) and the 6 (6,15 and 24) will experience the mental and emotionally sensitive times in their life. Now, when you have a Birthday Number adding to the 4 (4,13,22 and 31), 7 (7, 16 and 25) and 8 (8, 17 and 26) your dreams will touch the aspects of unusual, off beat, eccentric and sometimes very mystical / otherworldly. See you here early April 2024.
